Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Hey guys hey! So I'm gonna start playing soccer again and I need to know what my training regimen should look like. I want to include: -Muscle Increase -Cardiovascular exercise -Flexibility I know that a lot of you guys on here play sports or know about fitness, I myself am oblivious to the subjects and I need help. Thanks in advance! |

For cardio, jog at about a 7.5 minute mile pace for 5 to 6 miles through a bad neighborhood. At least, that's what they had me do for Cross Country. |

Soccer eh? I used to play soccer for high school, and I'm thinking about getting back into the leagues. Running is a must, so you're probably going to want to focus your workout around that. However, I prefer to do my muscle building before any cardio, because I just don't want to do anything after I run. What you might want to consider doing is a sort of double session once or twice a week (weight training first, a short break, then cardio training). Now I know you probably don't want to hear this, but a really good cardio exercise for soccer training are suicides. If you don't know what a suicide is, then here is an explaination, and I will wish you the best of luck: -[link]- as for your weight training, you should focus on your core muscles. This means lots of curl ups (on an inclined bench is best), Dead lifts, and squats. Start out on the isolation machines, then once you get a feel for it, try to move to the free weights (iso machines are like cheating). Bench pressing is good for you to (and it makes you look sex) so might as well throw that into your routine as well. Plan on spending at least an hour at the gym every other day, and try to find a friend to go with you (your less likely to quit at an exercise that way). Don't overdo it the first two weeks, your body will be pissed at you for wrecking it, but after those two weeks, you should be able to push yourself. Remember to set easy, short term goals for yourself (I want to bench 200 pounds by next year would be a bad one) Lastly, don't forget to play with your balls... juggling in your free time is good. |

Its all about diet and cardio Coming from someone who works at a gym, 75% of your results will come from those two things, not hours of work in a gym.

If you're playing soccer, it's not just long-windedness that you'll need to develop from long, sustained runs. Do jog/sprint drills, alternating 20-30 seconds sprint 1 minute run for 10-15 minutes. This will get you and your muscles used to the kind of burst work that you have to do during game situations.

I find that this schoolyear schedule helps me stay in great shape: 6:15- Wake up, urinate, shower, brush teeth, put contacts in. 7:10- Get in car, leave house, light cigarette, pick up friend. 7:20- Light cigarette, drive to school. 7:35- Sign-in late to school, go to first period. 7:40 to 2:15- Sleep in school. 2:20- Light cigarette, sit on really long line of cars to leave school. 2:35- Get home, eat stuff, watch TV. 3:40- Get in car, light cigarette, head to work. 4:00- Get paid to do nothing. 6:00- Walk out of office, light cigarette, get greasy pizza. 6:30- Go back to work, get paid to do nothing. 9:00- Leave work, light cigarette, head home. 9:20 to 2:00 AM- Sit on computer doing nothing. Now, in order to adapt that to a summer schedule, you're going to need to add a blunt or two in there (I simply don't have time during the weekday with school and work), about 10 more cigarettes, and a lot more food. Also, if you do decide to join a gym, make sure you still have money for drugs. |
