I mean sure, new maps are nice to play. Machine2 is ill. Personally I like maps like Japan_v6, Barnyard, Legends, etc... New maps will help out, but they will not be THE determining factor in getting people on. Personally, I like surfing with people that i like to surf with, mainly other F7L5's and FT's. Don't get me wrong. I like surfing a 1vs1 with DuB anytime, but its more fun surfing with DuB, Pope, Narf, Emerican, kd and a bunch of other (all F7L5's, that I forgot or didn't have space to mention, Kate don't flame me) F7L5's that use mics and shit too. Surfing is an aquired taste and its not about kills. Its about having fun and its about playing with peeps you know. When I see Narf on Office, I might take Office over surf given that there aren't any Surfers on the surf server. Know that I mean? Adding custom/glass maps again might help a bit, but it won't be a surf server, it will be a custom map server. Halfpipe is a good map. Lets see some more connections, it should be fine, no stress.

:( i hate halfpipe lol narf, do you know how much free time on my hands i have now? im on at least 6 hours per night. its too bad i cant play, but i can sure help populate it. I can get 15 players on assault in 15 mins. And, as i said, i have a SHITLOAD of maps, and i could go to fpsbanana to get a bunch as well (i do that when im bored already, but i dont send em to anyone cuz they dont get put on). I have plenty of time to devote to uploading maps for people. I cant nescecariy test them out myself, but i can have other people test them out, the REGULARS, who would play them the most. Now, the thing about it is, if you were to pick, say, kalibur (for example), you would have to worry about him going off to play like gungame or something. With me, you dont. 6 hours a night of finding maps? That could turn out to be what we need. |

lol, if you look at this Narf owns FTS but he play mostly on FTC I own FTG I mostly play surf (when I can get 1 or 2 more people on) Let’s just say if narf was to pick me (Not likely) I would make a thread asking what new maps everyone wants. Then I would get all the maps from emerican, toast, etc… I would wait for a time when surf has less then 5 people and Test out 10 new maps if you look last night it was 1:00 am and we had 10 people on (That’s on the weekend though) Now I have thought about this and I know when Pope reads this he is going to think I’m trying to still his position as Co OP. WRONG if Narf picks me I would be like a temporary op or another assist op PS: I just looked at fpsbanana.com and they have 389 maps (Now not all these maps are good and popular) that’s why we have toast he makes some great maps but he has no place to test them So really it all comes down to does Narf need help with a map op? or is there another way to get people on surf (besides new maps) |

narf the thing about the maps is that of the 60 there are 7 or 8 that people actually continually like to play. that means they play the same 7-8 maps over and over. we need to add maps and have the regulars decide which ones they like and which ones they dont, b=ecause were not trying to please just f7'ers, but also the regulars, so they will keep coming back. We need to add new, uncommon maps. People dont connect to a server if we are continually on, say, 10x final. people connect to surf servers because they want to try out a new map, one they havent tryed out yet. if we keep adding new maps, then wallah, the people will keep coming. we arent trying to get just f7'ers on, because most of us are busy. its about trying to get new f7'ers by having new maps that people want to try out. Its not just about the f7'ers, its about the players. The players are the ones who play. thats the reason its not what it used to be. we play the same damn maps over and over. I'm not attacking you or anything narf, but why wouldn't you want any more maps on your server? You don't even have to do anything to put them on there, people are voluntering to do it for you. If it's a crap map, and it gets on the server, then never play it again, as simple as that (unless your running low on hard drive space on the server, I don't exactly understand how it works, but that's the only reason I can think of why you wouldn't want anymore maps). Who knows, you might find something out there better than surf_japan don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't want to listen to our suggestions on what to do with your server problem, then please don't post about it. |
